What people have said so far about "What's the Worst That Could Happen?: A Rational Response to the Climate Change Debate"

ENDORSEMENTS

General Anthony C. Zinni USMC (Retired), former Commander in Chief of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)
"Greg Craven has written a brilliant and unique work on global warming. His innovative and intelligent approach to this controversial issue is superbly crafted. It is an important book that is a must read for those who care about our planet and future generations."

Bill McKibben, author "The End of Nature"
"This book trumps most of our accounts of the global warming crisis, partly for its good humor and straightforward logic, and partly because the author has actually figured out what actions make sense. Changing your lightbulb will help a little, but changing the political debate will help enormously--and this book will get you started down that path."

Chris Mooney, best-selling author of "Storm World", the "Republican War on Science," and "Unscientific America," writing in "New Scientist"
"Craven's schtick is ‘don't just trust me, think for yourself'.  The truth, though, is that Craven really is an expert, just of a new breed that didn't exist before the internet. In the climate debate, I would rather trust Craven than industrial lobbyists or environmental groups, and I doubt I am alone.... I learned something from it - an achievement I might have thought impossible given my lengthy immersion in the climate debate.... If Craven could get everybody who has weighed in on this debate to go through the exercises in the book, Al Gore should share his Nobel peace prize."

Kim Stanley Robinson, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of the "Mars Trilogy" and "Science in the Capital"

"This is a tremendous book and well worth anyone's time to read.  It very clearly and concisely covers all the important points not only about the climate change situation in our moment, but how we think and decide about important issues.  Anyone who enjoyed Craven's YouTube triumph "The Most Terrifying Video You'll Ever See" will enjoy unpacking that experience in this book, and for people running into Craven for the first time, you're in for a treat-he is funny as well as exceptionally clear, and wise."

Ross Gelbspan, author, "The Heat Is On" and "Boiling Point"

"This is a terrifically thoughtful book. Given the discouraging history of antagonism, denial and indifference to the heating of the planet, Greg Craven’s book shines an illuminating floodlight on how we think about global warming."

Gregg Easterbrook, author, "Sonic Boom"
"The worst thing that could happen is that you don't read this book! Greg Craven has written a valuable primer on the global warming debate."

CRITICISMS

"Climate Skeptic" blog
Phoenix businessman Warren Meyer was interviewed for the Christian Science Monitor article on me.  Here's his blog posting critquing my videos.  If you scroll down, you can even see where I lost my cool a bit.  :-(

Richard Lindzen, MIT climatologist
Richard Lindzen is the most prominent of the skeptical scientists.  He has written a number of op-eds for the Wall Street Journal, and appears in most major skeptical movies and stories.  As I was beginning putting together the ideas for my book, he was gracious enough to answer my requests for critiques, and we had an extensive online discussion.  I am convinced that my argument for using the statements of scientific societies as the best guess for "what science knows" prompted him to publish this online paper two months later: http://arxiv.org/abs/0809.3762v2

Terry Goodkind, author of "The Sword of Truth" series
Goodkind is not involved in the field of climate change, but when I was asking the manpollo.org forums for suggestions of people to critique my ideas for the book, one person suggested I contact Goodkind, because he was on record as thinking global warming was probably a hoax, and he prides himself on having a rational mind.  I got back a 6-page letter which was, um, highly critical.  He called me "evil," and said that "what you are doing is no better than the terrorists."  Ouch.

Eric Hufschmid
I didn't contact this gentleman for a critique, but the post he emailed to every staff member in my high school was too interesting to not share.  He starts out with "Is Greg Craven the genius we've been waiting for?" and ends with suggesting I'm part of a Zionist crime network.
